Cheers! Celebrate Oregon Wine Month with Three World-Class Wines

Sat, Sep 24, 22  |  wine

Oregon is the 4th largest producer of wine in the US, with offerings primarily comprised of three varietals: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris. A bit harder to find, but absolutely worth the search are Oregon Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Cabernet. Stylistically and characteristically different from the wines of their southern neighbor, Oregon wines hark back to old world stylings of Burgundy in France, a region which produces some of the greatest (and most expensive) examples of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the world.

On a global stage, Oregon wines stand on their own:

Pinot Gris:

Oregon Pinot Gris is one of the best values in wine. Oregon Pinot Gris is often almost Alsatian in nature, with crisp and clean minerality and notes of apple, pear, and melon. This is perfectly captured in Conveyance Pinot Gris.

Chardonnay:

Chardonnay from Oregon is a throwback to Old World wines, so it’s no wonder that some of the most prominent White Burgundy producers in France have traveled across the world to start wineries in Oregon. Common traits of superbly elegant and refined Oregon Chardonnay include a racy acidity, and notes of flowers, citrus, herbs, or almond. A to Z Wineworks Chardonnay is an incredible value.

Pinot Noir:

Pinot Noir is the heart and soul of Oregon wine. Not to be confused with more aggressive, full-bodied offerings from California, Oregon Pinots let their terroir do the talking. The morning fogs, cool climate, and volcanic soils in the Willamette Valley are perfect for growing this fickle, thin-skinned grape. Hints of cranberry and raspberry, baking spices, and earth are at the forefront of these world-class wines. Greetings Willamette Pinot Noir is the epitome of a great Oregon Pinot.

Celebrate Oregon Wine Month this May by enjoying Oregon wines of refined beauty, subtlety, and finesse. We promise, they’re worth the trip and never disappoint!
