Liquor Barn and Party Mart now delivering, launch app

Liquor Barn and Party Mart have given Louisville the news it needs on a Friday.

The two locally owned wine, beer and spirits providers are now delivering alcoholic beverages to residences, offices and elsewhere in Louisville and Lexington, according to their owner, Blue Equity.

The private equity firm bought the 15 Liquor Barn locations in Kentucky for $26.15 million back in November 2017. The acquisition expanded the company’s retail liquor sales holdings, as Blue Equity already owned the two Louisville Party Mart locations.

Using the Liquor Barn website or the new Liquor Barn mobile application, customers can find the Liquor Barn or Party Mart near them and order wine, liquor and beer. Orders must be at least $20, and there is a $5 delivery fee; however, the fee is waived for orders exceeding $75, according to a news release.

Customers must confirm they are 21 or older to check out and also are required to show photo identification upon delivery.

“We are very pleased to offer the conveniences of app and online shopping and delivery to our customers,” Jonathan Blue, chairman and managing director of Blue Equity, said in the release. “We are also very supportive of the social responsibility element by providing options for people who should not be driving. It is always our priority to ensure the best experiences and services for our customers.”

The stores will aim to deliver orders within an hour of them being placed, the release states. It did not say how far each store’s delivery radius stretches.

Liquor Barn and Party Mart are among the first, if not the first, liquor stores to start up their own delivery service in Louisville since the Kentucky General Assembly passed a bill allowing it. The new law took effect around this time last year.

National e-commerce company Drizly started offering delivery last year. It currently delivers alcohol from Waterfront Wine and Spirits on East Witherspoon Street, Red Castle Liquors on South First Street, Liquor Night Shop on Lexington Road and Party Mart on Brownsboro Road.
